Slush PUPPiE needed a locally made product to support its frozen pouch range at two major grocery and convenience trade events: the Metcash Expo and SPAR Expo.
The challenge was that the Slush PUPPiE pouch was not a standard drink format. An off-the-shelf stubby cooler would not fit properly, sit neatly or give the brand the retail-ready impact it needed.
The brief was to create a fully custom neoprene sleeve, made to the exact pouch dimensions, produced in multiple flavour colourways, and decorated with full-colour Slush PUPPiE branding and character artwork.
We partnered with Australian neoprene manufacturer Abalone to create a custom-made sleeve designed specifically for the Slush PUPPiE pouch.
Local production allowed for fast sampling, real pouch fit testing, quick revisions and tight quality control ahead of the fixed July event deadline. The sleeve was made taller than standard cooler formats and included dual neck loops to suit the pouch shape.
Each sleeve was produced using full-colour sublimation, allowing the bright Slush PUPPiE artwork, character graphics and flavour colours to wrap across the neoprene surface with strong retail impact.
The final range included multiple flavour-inspired colourways, turning the sleeves into a bold, coordinated product family that looked right at home on the Slush PUPPiE trade stand.
The sleeves helped Slush PUPPiE create a colourful, high-impact trade display and the brand was awarded Best Stand at the Metcash Expo.
The client response was immediate and glowing, with feedback including: “I’m absolutely obsessed!!” and “The quality and imagery are spot on.”
The locally made approach delivered exactly what the project needed: speed, custom fit, strong artwork reproduction and reduced production risk. There were no offshore sampling delays, no sea freight uncertainty and no compromise on sizing.
The success of the sleeves also created serious commercial momentum. After the initial run, Slush PUPPiE requested pricing for a potential scale-up of 30,000 to 100,000 units for a proposed national retail promotion.
This project proved that Australian-made promotional merchandise is not just a nice-to-have. In this case, it was the reason the product worked.
